The Commissioner, Abia State Command, CP Danladi Isa, has addressed key concerns regarding the welfare of retired police officers in the Abia Command.
The CP, who held a meeting with representatives of the retired police officers from various ranks in the Command, encouraged the retirees to refrain from spreading unverified or negative statements that could undermine the collective efforts of the Force.
Conveying the message of the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, the Abia CP emphasized that efforts are in progress to enhance the welfare of retired police officers.
He emphasized that Abia is enjoying relative peace as a result of the support of the Abia State Government, and said that there is collaboration between the Force, sister security agencies, and civil societies in the state. He therefore encouraged the retired officers to partner with the police in the fight against criminality in Abia.
During the interactive session that ensued, several pressing concerns were raised by the retirees and were thoroughly discussed. These included an appeal to the IGP to facilitate their exit from PENCOM.
However, the Abia State Police Command’s O/C Pension, ASP Chizoma Opara, provided clarity and guidance on pension-related matters.
