Chelsea and Manchester United have decided not to pursue a deal for Newcastle striker Alexander Isak.
Isak has been dropped by the Magpies for their pre-season tour of the Far East, after revealing he wants to leave.
But it appears the 25-year-old might not have the pick of the bunch in the Premier League.
Chelsea are happy with their current squad, which has strikers Liam Delap and Nicolas Jackson. The versatile Joao Pedro also arrived from Brighton this summer.
The internal suspicion is that their name is being used to drive up a price on the 25-year-old striker.
United are also not keen on Isak and other big-money options like Nicolas Jackson (Chelsea) and Benjamin Sesko (RB Leipzig).
With Isak valued at £150million, the Red Devils cannot compete with a potential bid from Liverpool and other Premier League rivals after spending more than £130m on Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha this summer.
