The Fennecs sat back for most of the game, with goalkeeper Chloé N’Gazi making a number of saves to deny the nine-time champions.
Benstiti said his players exhibited determination, and tactical discipline in the game.
“We knew it would take a perfect defensive game to hold Nigeria. I’m proud of the girls – they showed heart and tactical maturity,” he told CAFonline.
Algeria finished second in Group B with five points from three games.
They will face hosts Atlas Lionesses of Morocco in the quarter-final on Friday.
