Algeria coach, Farid Benstiti has praised his players for their resolute display in the clash with the Super Falcons of Nigeria.

The North Africans held Justine Madugu’s side to a 0-0 draw at the Stade Larbi Zaouli, Casablanca on Sunday night

The Fennecs sat back for most of the game, with goalkeeper Chloé N’Gazi making a number of saves to deny the nine-time champions.

Benstiti said his players exhibited determination, and tactical discipline in the game.

“We knew it would take a perfect defensive game to hold Nigeria. I’m proud of the girls – they showed heart and tactical maturity,” he told CAFonline.

Algeria finished second in Group B with five points from three games.

They will face hosts Atlas Lionesses of Morocco in the quarter-final on Friday.
