WAFCON: Tinubu’s wife, Atiku celebrate Super Falcons for beating South Africa

Senator Oluremi Tinubu, Nigeria’s First Lady, and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar have celebrated the Super Falcons for beating South Africa at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, WAFCON, semi-final encounter on Tuesday.

YARN NAIJA reports that goals from Rasheedat Ajibade and Michelle Alozie gave Nigeria the victory against Banyana Banyana at the Stade Larbi Zaouli.

The Super Eagles will now face Morocco in the WAFCON final this weekend.

Reacting, Atiku, in a tweet via his X account said Nigerians are behind the Super Falcons as he urged them to go for glory against Morocco in the final.

“Congratulations to our Super Falcons on their 2-1 victory over South Africa to reach the #WAFCON final,” Atiku wrote.

“We are fully behind you even as you head for overall victory in the finals.”

On her part, Oluremi Tinubu commended the girls for beating South Africa.

She wrote: “I commend you, our incredible Super Falcons for your victory over South Africa in the semi-finals of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations Championship.

“You have once again shown the world the strength, courage, and brilliance of Nigerian women. Your passion, discipline, and unity on the field are a shining example to young girls everywhere that nothing good is beyond reach.

“This win is more than just a ticket to the finals of the Championship, but a powerful reminder of what we can achieve when we believe in ourselves and stand together.

“I look forward to you lifting the Cup by the grace of God. May you finish strong.”
